Biography

 

Aimee has been playing the harp since the age of 11. In addition to studying with Laura Hearne of St. Louis for seven years, Aimee attended Harp Masterclass with world-renowned harpist Susann McDonald at Indiana University for three summers and studied under Dr. Anne Yeung while an undergraduate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Aimee also played with the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra for four years, two years as the principal harpist. In addition, Aimee has played with numerous other orchestras including the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra, the Washington University Orchestra, the Musical Diversion Society, the University of Illinois Orchestra, and the University of Illinois Illini Symphony.

 

Aimee’s professional harp career started at the age of 12. Her wide-ranging repertoire is exclusively played on concert grand harps. In addition to weddings, parties, dinners, receptions, graduations, and funerals, she has played engagements for companies such as Boeing, Monsanto, A.G. Edwards, Ralston Purina, and the Olin School of Business at Washington University. Her venues are equally wide-ranging, including the Jewell Box , World’s Fair Pavilion, Piper Palm House, the Missouri Botanical Garden, regional wineries, Ritz Carlton, the Adams Mark, Pere Marquette Lodge, the Shrine of St. Joseph and numerous other churches as well as private residences.

 

Aimee is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with degrees in French and Elementary Education. In addition to playing her harp professionally, Aimee taught 2nd grade prior to having children. She used her harp and music in her teaching.
